Flashcode Privacy Policy

Account Information, Local Storage, and Cloud Backups

Flashcode uses your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile picture to identify and display your account. Your flashcard data is stored locally on your device. When you use cloud backup, a database snapshot is uploaded to your Google Drive application-data folder. Flashcode can create, list, download, and delete its own backups there.

Credentials and Authentication

Google authorization tokens are stored using the operating system’s credential storage. Google handles your password; Flashcode does not receive it.

Sign-Out, Access Revocation, and Data Deletion

Signing out clears Flashcode’s active credentials but does not automatically delete local databases or cloud backups. You can revoke Flashcode’s Google access through your Google Account settings. Revoking access does not itself delete existing backups. Contact the developer for help deleting retained data.

Google Scopes Requested

  • openid, email, profile: Used to authenticate your Google session, display your account details in the application, and isolate your local SQLite database file on your device.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata: Used exclusively to manage Flashcode backup snapshots inside Google Drive’s hidden application-data folder (appDataFolder). Flashcode does not access your ordinary Google Drive files.
